UV Supervisor

Responsible for the Operation of the UV Coating department in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards to ensure that it meets or exceeds overall (internal and external customers) satisfaction and service expectations.
 
Responsible for leading and managing a production operation to achieve scheduled performance at optimum value and within established quality/service standards. This includes the development and execution of maintenance processes to make sure all equipment is operating with optimum performance.
 
Develops and monitors key production metrics through individual and team accountability. This includes providing feedback to all  UV operators so that they can be aware of their respective performance for annual reviews. Adequately measuring production numbers and establishing production goals for the department.
 
Reviews operating data and investigates deviations from anticipated performance. (Press calibration and maintain optimum press conditions). Initiates and implements necessary corrective actions.
 
Coordinate and maintain run sequence based on priorities of each press and follow-up management of printed product into bindery.
 
Fairly and consistently administers all plant and company policies and procedures.
 
Maintains workplace organization, maintenance and cleanliness of all presses, and a clean work environment through continuous housekeeping efforts.
 
Manages staffing needs in UV department and ensures staffing is appropriate to manage workload with minimal overtime.
 
Communicate effectively with management team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that customer expectations and production objectives are met.
 
 
Frequently monitor quality and instruct employees on how to maintain quality standards. Facilitate departmental cross training and development plan for each employee.
 
Promotes a safe work environment, works with Facility manager and management team to ensure compliance with EPA, DEP and OSHA regulations.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the essential job duties satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities needed:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Technical experience with roller coating and silk screen UV presses.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written ; must communicate professionally and positively with employees  and all levels of management
  • 5 plus years in UV and press operations
  • A n intermediate understanding of computer processing including word processing and spreadsheet applications and applicable press applications.
  • 2 years in a lead/supervisor/manager role
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to make decisions independently
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
 
Experience:  2-4 years relevant experience and/or training
 
Education:  Master Press Certification preferred. 
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
 
  • Successful candidate may be required to submit to post offer, pre-employment background and/or physical examination which include drug screening/medical history check.
  • Position may require the need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
 
  • Minimal physical activity.  Requires the ability to sit for more than (4) hour per day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
