Production Quality Manager:
Responsible for managing and directing production activities within a printing facility. Coordinates the production of printed material, ensures machines are repaired and running smoothly, and manages workers on production line.
Primary responsibilities
  • Preside over the production of printed material and customer orders.
  • Analyze and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with the Logistics dept. to order appropriate materials.
  • Ensure orders are produced and shipped on time.
  • Test machines for disrepair and malfunctions.
  • Set and meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Hire, train, and supervise workers.
  • Correct problems on production line.
  • Maximize the production process to lower costs.
  • Change production levels and staffing on different product lines to minimize inventory levels.
  • Minimize labor cost.
  • Monitor product standards.
  • Oversee one or more areas or an entire plant.
  • Implement and oversee quality control programs.
  • Implement training programs.
  • Work with outside suppliers to increase quality of raw materials.
  • Coordinate with different departments in the manufacturing plant.
  • Work with the financial departments to come up with a budget and spending plan.
  • Manage communication lines with managers, suppliers, and procurement departments.
  • Keep abreast of new technology that can be used in the production process.
  • Develop production schedules and duty assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs.
  • Cross-train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.
  • Develop SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Tangible) to breakdown large-scale projects into incremental improvements.
  • Prepares operation documentation as well as maintenance manuals and schedules
  • Keep current equipment operational by coordinating with maintenance.
  • Research and test manufacturing methods to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Work on other projects as assigned.
  • Works closely with other departments to determine equipment details (automation, production, quality, etc.) to ensure a safe, high quality, and efficient production environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in designing machines, equipment, and automation.
  • Knowledge of current mechanical components including sensors, controls, motors, and other components.
  • 3-5 Years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer in manufacturing.
  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related technical degree a plus.
  • Degree in Print Theory
  • Proficiency in MS Project
  • Good project management skills
