HVAC Systems Engineer:

The HVAC Engineer will be responsible for the installation, implementation and eventual maintenance of a central cooling system for our industrial printing facilities. This central cooling system within our printing facility will take the place of individual “chiller” cooling systems used on the current presses and machinery and combine them into one large unit. This expert will be someone that has installed similar central cooling units and knows the ins and outs of their systems. Our facility uses automated monitoring systems and the ideal candidate would be able to assist with other environmental systems such as humidification and facilitate reliable paper flow through the printing presses This position reports to Plant Manager and Corporate Executives.

  • Installation of central cooling system for large printing presses and equipment
  • Overall upkeep, maintenance and service of central cooling system
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC and building systems.
  • Available after hours and on call for emergencies.
  • Successful experience with motivating and managing staff and vendors
  • Schedules and perform regular inspections and maintenance of all the machinery in the facilities.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines.
  • Monitors and controls maintenance costs
  • Ensures that there are no breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes.
  • Ability to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems and effectively troubleshooting.
  • Schedules maintenance and service activities to limit impact on production schedule.
  • Keeps detailed records of all service, maintenance and refurbishing works carried out on the machinery.
  • Controls downtime by informing production of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs extra duties as necessary to support quality requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Must be a certified HVAC technician
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
  • Strong experience on the installation of central cooling units either specifically for the printing industry/or other industries using similar systems.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, record keeping, & time management skills
  • 5 years + experience with Management (Facilities and/or printing experience preferred).
  • Technical knowledge of printing production equipment is not required but a definite plus
  • Be able to coordinate multiple projects at once.
  • Have the ability to motivate maintenance personnel under pressure.
  • Successfully demonstrate the ability to manage personnel working on various shifts.
  • Possesses the skills that generate ideas that can lead to reduction of cost and improvement of work processes.
  • The candidate selected must be dependable, reliable, and detail oriented with good organizational skills with a sense of urgency and self motivation.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug test.
